Our old house

I got the bad news today that the house that I grew up in and loved dearly was involved in a fire early this morning. Jennifer and I went by to see it, and there was Channel 5 newscast set up to broadcast live from there in a few minutes for the 5 and 6 o'clock news. 

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the fire but 2 people involved are in critical condition tonight. From what I understand at this point, a man stabbed his wife multiple times in a domestic dispute and then drove to my old house (for unknown reasons at this time) and set his car on fire and then the house.  He then walked to an underpass down Chastain Rd where he was found unconscious a few hours later.

It is heartbreaking to me to think about a fire burning in my old house.  I sure had lots of memories there!

A LIVE CHRISTMAS TREE

 

 

 

 

Patches LOVES to sit under the tree!!

 

We decided this was a good year to get a live Christmas tree for the first
time in a long time. So, we went to a local tree farm. Unfortunately, it was
cold and rainy. We wanted to spend more time picking the best tree but Dale
found one we all could live with and jumped the gun. Next thing we knew,
they were trimming it. We really didn't know what we were doing. We got it
home, and unpacked it and get it set up. It was beautiful and we all enjoyed
it!

Surprise! !

Mom was finally using  her gift certificate from Mothers day for a facial,  massage,  hair cut, and time at the spa. I surprised her with this on her car when she came out.

Nursery days

We serve in the nursery at church once a month. Justin is learning some valuable skills, and I think he is super cute with these super cute and sweet babies.

More fun with the Rockettes

Last minute calls from a friend with free tickets to the show led to mass chaos trying to get everyone there on time.  But I am so glad that Jennifer was finally able to see the Rockettes. And we were able to see our Gowder friends as well. A great night was had by all!!
