Egg Drop

One of the local churches sponsored an egg drop this year at Sprayberry High School. I thought it sounded pretty interesting, so we invited the Hills and Koehlers to join us. Everyone was excited but running late the day of the event. We got there and registered and went to the football field where they were dropping the eggs. A few minutes later, Mike Patellis flew over in his helicopter stuffed with eggs.

He circled several times before dropping the candy filled eggs. Then they dropped some on both ends of the field.

Unfortunately, I think the crowd was much bigger than anticipated and there weren't enough eggs for everyone. Don't get me wrong-there was a ton of eggs, but there were thousands of kids. And apparently the big kids knocked down the barricade and everyone just ambushed the field and started grabbing as many eggs as they could. By the time our 7 kids got out there, there was nothing left. :( It was disappointing, but fortunately there were no tears. There were, however, many lost children in the chaos. We finally found Jessica and her friend who were with Tina on the sides.

So, we took the kids over and let them play on all the inflatables. They had a good time there and we got to spend some time together too.

After we got home, the kids and I colored eggs for the next day- EASTER!!! Jennifer had gotten burned at the egg drop so she was trying to hide her sunburn.

We went to one of those in Canton a couple of years ago...it was a NIGHTMARE, too. Like I totally think the person who thought that up wasn't thinking...at all. :(
