Our Christmas Miracle…a White Christmas!!

We woke the kids up at 8 am to see if Santa had come.  We always snuggle in our bed while we read the Christmas story out of the bible so that we can focus on the main reason for celebration before we even go downstairs. Then Dale and I go down to see if Santa has come(which he always has!) , turn the Christmas lights on, and get the camera and camcorder ready while the kids wait patiently as best as they can for us to give the signal to come on down.

IMG_8851Santa was good to the kids again this year, and had drank every ounce of his milk.  Justin got the other Nerf gun that he wanted and Jennifer got a keyboard and a bunch of earrings and makeup, among other things. IMG_8855IMG_8869The cats and Jake got in on the fun too as they had presents and stockings for them.  Jake still enjoys just shredding the paper. The cats actually found their present earlier in the week and got the toy out of the bag and had been playing with it all week!IMG_8871Mom and Bill came over to spend Christmas morning with us. That was a special treat!! MiMi even fixed a wonderful breakfast for us!  Then after we ate, we opened the gifts from each other. It is always a sweet time to see what the kids got for us.  IMG_8879IMG_8882IMG_8889IMG_8903Jake getting one of his gifts.

IMG_8913Jennifer got a pillow and blanket set that was soo soft then some pretty boots and some makeup.

After they left. it started SNOWING!!!  They had been calling all week for a chance on Christmas day but we didn’t know if we would see any or not. But we definitely did!! It started snowing here around 11:30 and snowed hard ALL DAY until about 6 or so that evening.

Here is a pic of our house right after it started:

This is our CANT BELIEVE ITS SNOWING ON CHRISTMAS IN GEORGIA picture!

Sarah had fixed a delicious meal and the boys and Deena finally made it over. We ate and laughed so hard-it was really good to all be together. Ashley didn’t get to come but she called and talked to everyone. And believe it or not…they didn’t have snow in NYC and we did!

All of the kids went in on Dad’s gift and got him a life vest that will automatically inflate if he falls in the water.  They are pretty expensive, but will totally be worth every penny if he ever needs it. As much time as he spends on the lake, it was a great gift. If he will just wear it!
