Chick-fil-A news

I found out about a neat thing that our local chick-fil-a was offering where you could take a back stage tour through the restaurant, and signed us all up. Dale had to work so he couldn’t go but we went, and coincidentally ran into Mom while she was there eating breakfast with Nancy Ellis.




We met with Landon, one of the managers, who did our tour. We had to wear chick-fil-a hats or nets. We all chose the hats.  Then we went into the kitchen where we had to wash our hands in the coolest washing station ever. You just put your hands down in there and a bunch of jets rinse them, wash them and then rinse them again all around your hands. You don’t even have to move them. It was really neat.



We went through the whole kitchen area and got the grand tour. We watched them checking the chicken, breading the chicken, stuck our head out the drive thru window, saw the recipe cards for different things, etc. It was really neat. We got to ask any questions and then got to have anything we wanted on the menu for free.

I think Mimi was embarrasing Jennifer by taking our pictures while we toured! :)

We were with one other group ( a mother and 3 young kids). I think we must have been one of their first groups to do it, because they took our picture and asked if they could hang it on their billboard.

Chick-fil-a is one of our favorite places to eat and still is. As a matter of fact, we went back the next day for Cow Appreciation Day and Landon came and remembered us and even remembered our names. Justin was so impressed.



The next day was cow appreciation day and I told the kids we were going to dress up. We downloaded our cow costume kit from the website and started cutting out our spots, tails, sings, etc. Gabby(our neighbor) wanted to go with us but she didn’t want to dress up. I told her if she went with us she had to dress up. She finally accepted that. She came to the house early and we got her dressed up too.



We went to the CFA on Chastain Rd and everyone always feels so funny walking through the parking lot with the cow outfits on. Gabby made the comment that this was one of the weirdest things she had ever done…and all our mouths dropped open. REALLY??!?!? This didn’t even fall into the weird category of things we have done. We had fun talking about all the much crazier things we had done through the years. I think she really enjoyed dressing up with us and having lunch with us.

Then we dressed up again for dinner and went to the dwarf house where we met Dale in the parking lot and dressed him up as well. He was hot from working outside all day but put a few spots on. We ended up getting our dinner (about $30 worth) for absolutely free.
