For the last 6 years or so, my Mom has led a group at church of Single Moms. She really cares for each of these ladies and has been there for them through many times of crisis and trouble. They really love her as well. They meet monthly and at other special times, but the highlight of the year and the event that Mom works toward for almost 12 months is the Christmas banquet. She puts MANY hours into planning and preparing for this evening, and this year, I got the priviledge to be able to attend the banquet.
I know most of the ladies and am getting to know them all better this year, so it was a real honor to be able to spend this evening with them. The special speakers this year were 4 of the women that have been with Mom from the beginning or near the beginning of when she took over leadership of the group. They shared their hearts and testimony and talked about what the Single mom’s ministry has meant to them and their families. It was very touching and heartfelt. One of my favorite moments is when the ladies get their Christmas gifts.
