New Years

We continued our normal tradition as we rolled out of 2011 and into 2012. New Year's Eve was started with ordering Outback "to go" where we enjoy dinner at home. We played some games and worked on our annual puzzle and watched movies waiting for midnight. Oh, we also played with our new Xbox kinect.  At midnight, we toasted with apple juice (everyone likes that better than cider anyway!).

Jennifer didn't want her picture made so we did our backs.  It's hard for me to believe how much taller than me she is, until I see a picture such as this.

Since New Year's Day fell on a Sunday this year, we had to work around church with our normal activities.  Rather than going to Mom and Bill's, they brought the food over to our house and came over here for lunch. Mom is the BEST cook and she made her traditional meal of fried chicken, blackeye peas, cole slaw, corn bread, and collard greens.  We all stuffed ourselves and hung out for a while.
That afternoon/evening, we went over to the Koehlers for games and football.  We always have fun hanging out with them. Another great way to start our year!
