Atlanta Union Mission
Last night, I was blessed to be able to join about 47 people from our church to go sing at the Atlanta Union Mission. This is a shelter for women and children in Atlanta. Some of them have been in abusive situations and are seeking shelter for that. Others are in a 12 step program working towards freedom from addictions. We sang about 4 or 5 songs and enjoyed watching these ladies praise the Lord even in tough situations. Many of them thanked us when they left. One hugged my neck and talked to me for a few minutes about how she used to dance for Satan..the least she can do now is dance for God. She stood the whole time we were singing and just praised Jesus. It was such a blessing to be a part of the worship service last night. Many of our people just got to hold and love on babies and young kids. Unfortunately there were a lot of them there. We also gave out candy as they went in...bon-bons and truffles for the Moms and suckers for the kids. It was definitely a God-moment for us.
