Lake Allatoona Fun on a boat

This week, my Dad (aka Papa) took a week of vacation to just spend time at the lake house that they bought this year. We decided to surprise them with a visit on afternoon. They knew we were coming and bringing dinner, but that was all they knew. Dale has been wanting a boat in a BAD way, so we decided this would be a great time to rent one. So we rented a boat from park Marina and took off to their house nearby. They were so surprised when we drove up on the water. We entertained them for a few hours while pulling everyone on the tube and then Justin tried to ski and then Dale tried to ski. Dad joined us for a boat ride.

Both kids got a turn driving the boat for a bit. The weather was absolutely gorgeous!! And the lake was so quiet (except for our giggles of joy and screams when we went over the wake)

Here is my Dad when he has been on vacation at the lake all week and hadn't had to worry about shaving. The fish is the only thing he is interested in.

Here was our view as we drove past their dock over and over and over. We gave them quite a show.

Little showoff using no hands!

Justin gives the thumbs up!! What fun!!

These are some pictures we took while waiting to rent the boat.

We rented the boat for about 3 hours, then took it back and had to drive about 30 minutes back to Dad's place. On the water, it was a 4 minute boat ride-UGH! We brought some delicious rotisserie chickens, sides, Hawaiian rolls, tea, and fruit salad. Everyone was starved and it was very good. Then Papa took the kids down to the dock to fish. Both kids caught two fish each. And I caught a fish for the first time in years. It was very small, but Dad was so excited because it was great bait for the big ones he goes after. We each had a fishing pole and Dad had about 6 poles out at the same time. Then we went swimming again. We actually swam in the water until it was dark. Everybody swam but Dale, but he promised to go know next time.
We had a lot of fun on our day at the lake. Thanks for sharing your place PaPa and SaSa!!
