Night at the museum-LIVE

This evening at the museum in downtown Kennesaw, the museum came to life, just like in the movies!! I took the kids over to find out what was happening. First off, we were greeted by the Batmobile. Then we were spotted by some storm troopers before we even got in the door good. Darth Vader and his followers were not too far away.

This is the poor fellow that tries to run the museum but he was constantly chasing after people to get them back where they were supposed to be. His keys were pretty cute-they were a child's toy keys. He kept saying quotes from the movie-it was really cute.

Once we got inside, we were met by all kinds of characters who would interact and talk to you. Some would follow you around. Others would chase each other. The pirates had taken over the "General" locomotive. This guy put my kids in jail.
In the prehistoric era, the cavemen would grunt and groan and communicate using their clubs and grunts. Here one is chasing Justin out of his cave. But they really hated the flash on my camera. They couldn't understand that at all, so each time they would hide and cover their faces.
The second time we went through the gorilla was in there with them. Nobody stayed where they were supposed to. It was like a party in there with music, strobe lights, and they had decorated the place with streamers. The "real" statues even had wigs and leis on. It was really cute.
We ran into R2-D2. At one point a lady(from long ago) pulled a gun on him because he scared her.
This was the room where you could sign up for the military for the Civil War-for either side! And they were all there trying to get you to join their side. The union leader told me if I would go with them, we would have a southern BBQ each week. ;)

These were some gangster guys we kept running into.

This was some King-I forget who but he told us all about his carriage and told us this was the actual carriage in the movie Ben-Hur.

I believe this was Queen Elizabeth. And that King above kept looking for her....

This was the factory section during WWII when the women started working in the factories. There were posters about doing the work the men left behind. The ladies would say things about their new jobs and how ladies could get the jobs done too.

I liked this section. It had mostly living statues. They looked a LOT like real statues but then they would move or speak to you. The one above wanted us to look at his muscles, so he struck this pose.
There were military guys all around. I saw one showing a youngster how to carry a gun and march properly.
This was in the wild, wild west. We were in a saloon her. They were sitting around playing poker and listening to live music. It was really realistic.

They really did a fantastic job overall. We weren't able to watch the movie, because we were meeting my Mom and Bill for dinner, but it was nice to be able to take the kids to something like this, without paying an arm and a leg.
