Orlando excitement

Dale and I and Steve and Dana finally got on the road and headed to Orlando Friday morning. That evening, we went to Downtown Disney for dinner. It is always fun to just walk around down there. We ate outside and the weather was perfect. The meal was excellent -we ate at Raglan Road. Needless to say, we were all exhausted and headed to bed early that evening.

The next morning, we got up, ate breakfast, and headed to Universal Studios. None of us had been before, so everything was new. It was kinda weird actually riding rides (mostly coasters!) that we had no idea what to expect or what was coming next. If you think about it, I have ridden every ride at Six Flags and all the Disney parks multiple times and always know what to expect. We were in the park before opening and rode all the coasters at Universal Studios and some other rides. By lunchtime, we were done at that park. We had a nice lunch at the place voted #1 themepark restaurant . It was a very nice place and filled up fast, but again we were one of the first ones in there. Mythos restaurant was very nice and we actually could watch the roller coasters as we enjoyed an elegant lunch.

Then we headed over to Islands of Adventure. First time for all of us, again. We rode several tamer rides letting our food digest before hitting the big coasters again. One of the roller coasters is called Fire and Ice and they are side by side, coming close to each other in the flips, but they are different rides. We did both of them back to back and everyone (but me) started feeling like they had had enough. We decided that everyone was getting old!! I was still fine, though so I decided I must not be old yet. :)

We finally headed back to the newest ride, which just opened up. The wait was about 3 hours long and no one (except me!) wanted to wait that long. So, we ended up leaving the park right before closing and heading to the Nascar Sports grill to watch the VA tech game(Steve's team). The guys and Dana sat and watched the game. I watched for a bit, then walked around Citywalk for a while, and came back. Dana's feet had been bothering her, so she didn't want to walk anymore. Again, the getting old thing. :) Then we stayed to watch some of the GA game and ended up eating dinner there.

We headed back to the hotel, across the street. We needed to get in bed at a decent time, so we could get up early and head over to the ship. Dana ALWAYS wakes up early on the day we leave for a cruise!!
