Yesterday, I got to celebrate my friend Tina's birthday with her in a special way. We started the day by meeting another friend at the mall to...No not shop, but walk. We walked for a while and then late met for lunch at Chick-fil-a. Then to finish it off, we went to a really nice restaurant that evening with our hubbies. It was the most expensive place I have ever eaten. Dale had been doing some work for the owner of this restaurant and he gave us a free meal in exchange for the work he wanted done. We had the most wonderful meal, including a 54 oz steak for two that cost $85 JUST FOR THE STEAK. Now, if you know me well at all, you know I would NEVER pay that much for a piece of meat, but this steak came highly recommended and we knew we weren't paying for it. It really was excellent though! As a matter of fact, we finished the rest of it this evening for dinner with the kids. So, in effect it fed us for 6 meals. Still, that is a lot of money. Anyway, it was very nice of the owner to comp our meals and we had a great time. They even brought Tina a flourless chocolate cake with ice cream and a candle.

We also had another reason to go to this particular restaurant on this particular night (besides the free meal, besides Tina's birthday). One of Dale's best friends from Jr. high and high school has turned into a professional sax player and was playing with his band at this restaurant. He has followed his website for quite a while and had been trying to go listen to him for months now. He emailed him about 6 months ago, but didn't tell Nick that we were coming, so he was completely surprised. We went over to listen to Nick and his band play their jazz music. They are really good! And Dale so enjoyed catching up with his old friend. If you are interested, his website is www.Nicklongomusic.com. We had such a fun time with our friends and hope Tina had an excellent birthday!!
