We made lasagna, salad, and garlic bread. Of course, we had to finish it up with an ice cream cake.
Everyone knew that Jennifer only wanted one thing this year. And it could be from everyone. She wanted an IPOD I-touch. Well, that was more money than we wanted to spend on a birthday present, so we told Jennifer that if she wanted to pay a third with her Christmas money, we would pay a third and see if both sets of grandparents wanted to split a third. She was more than willing to do that deal and the grandparents agreed to. But she wasn't sure if she was going to get one or not.
We started opening gifts, and she got a diamond cross necklace from Papa and Sasa. It is really beautiful and they had been saving this gift for this special occasion.
Then she opened the card from Uncle Brian and Aunt Deena and Owen. The card had money in it (which she really liked, of course) but the card had a pea pod full of eyes. It was an "eyepod".
She was really hoping that wasn't the only "IPOD" she got!
Justin gave her a dragon made out of rope that he had and $5 of his own money since we weren't really able to go to the store for her gift today.
Then she got to the "big" gift. The one she had been hoping for and waiting on.....
Was she a happy girl or what?? I loved looking at her expressions in these pictures, but also enjoyed looking at Justin's expressions. He was truly happy for her. How sweet is that?
We had a lot of fun hanging out with our family. Owen helped Jennifer get her IPOD set up and started.
Here are some group shots:
We will be celebrating all weekend as she is having a sleepover tomorrow night. Happy Birthday Jennifer!! I can't believe you are going to be a teenager!
