Winter Wonderland-Part 1
Well, the forecasters had been calling for it all week, and they were finally right! Some schools were closing on Friday before we even saw any snow, but our county went to school and then decided to let out 1 hour early. When Justin came home from school at 1:30, it had just started snowing and it was snowing really hard. He came in and immediately went out to do what he has been doing every day....jump on the trampoline...except this time it was in the snow.
By the time Jennifer got home 2 hours later, it was looking like this:
She went down the street and made a snowman with some friends. Then the neighbors came over and Justin and Jake went out to play with them. They had snowball fights and sledded and built a fort for their snowball battles.

They made snow angels.
They all came in for a little bit while we cooked dinner and drank some hot cocoa and apple cider. We also dried some of the other kid's socks and jackets. Then Jennifer and Elena went back out to play for a little bit. I grabbed these pictures as it was getting dark.
Notice the blue float that was used for the fort's protection. The bucket was used to get snow. I laughed when I looked outside and all the neighbor's yards were so pretty and smooth as silk with no footprints and then I noticed how chunked up our yard was. None of the other neighbors had floats and buckets in their front yard. And why should they? All of the kids were here in our yard. Oh well, they were having fun and isn't that what snow is all about??
