Happy 4th of July

This year we celebrated the Fourth of July a little differently than normal. We went to see the Woodstock fireworks on July 3. We got an awesome seat near the car in the Office Depot parking lot where we had plenty of room. The kids played catch until the fireworks started with the tennis ball. We didn’t even go up there until around 8:45 so we didn’t have to wait long. They did a wonderful job on the fireworks and we were home within 10 minutes of them ending. It was so easy to get out and not sit in traffic.




The next morning, we headed to the lake where we spent the rest of the day at Dad’s lake house. I took my camera but never even got it out of the van. We had all brought dishes and enjoyed some yummy food brought by all the ladies. Then after lunch, Dale took me and Jennifer on the waverunner over to my friend Diane’s houseboat. Then he went back and got Justin when we realized that we were going on a ride in the houseboat. Justin wasn’t able to get in the water due to his swimmer’s ear but he could go on a ride in the houseboat.



It was all of our first time ever riding on a houseboat. And it was pretty cool!! We had the waverunner, Dad’s houseboat, Donnie’s cabin cruiser and Matt’s bass boat at Dad’s place but we rode on Diane and Steve’s houseboat with her family and a neighbor. There were 11 of us and it was pretty wild to be able to stretch out on a lounge chair with a drink soaking up the sun rays while chatting with everyone and enjoying cruising around the lake.



When we got back, Dale took the kids back and then returned to get me. Diane and I had decided to go for a swim so Steve, Diane, Dale and I jumped in the lake and got to spend some wonderful time telling stories and hanging out. Then Dale and I returned to Dad’s where everyone had been worried because we had been gone so long. I had no idea that it had been that long! Time flies when you are having fun.



Jennifer and I went swimming at Dad’s dock and the guys took turns taking the waverunner out. Then that evening Matt had bought some fireworks and he shot those off. The neighbors also had some fireworks that he had spent quite some money on and we got to enjoy those as well.



It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed it all. Happy Birthday America!!
