So, they decided to get together for the first "Dudley Awards". The idea was that it would be similar to the Oscar awards. The kids were to dress up however they wanted and walk the red carpet when they arrived. They were warned that Paparazzi would be everywhere. This is Dudley:
He is the oldest prop that CFT has in its closet. He has been in many plays through the years.
Jennifer and her friend Brooke waited in the parking lot so that the 3 girls could walk the red carpet together.
Then their friend Anna got there and they all walked in together. They all looked beautiful!!
Here is the whole group that could make it that night. Each actor received his or her "Dudley award" and they walked up on stage and got the microphone to say anything they wanted. I didn't get to see or hear all of them but the ones I did just cracked me up. These kids are so comfortable on the stage!!
I tried to zoom in so you guys could see some of the costumes. They did a great job "playing the role"...imagine that?!?
This is the wonderful staff that work so many hours -all volunteers!! to help these kids channel their talents and energy onto the stage and to glorify Christ in the process. Thanks to all of them!!
Each award was different and unique to each actor. Jennifer got the "Go Go Gal Award" for being a wonderful Go Go Girl but she thinks that she was supposed to get the best balancing award for dancing on a table. There was a little confusion about that. Regardless, she did a great job at both.
In the end, we all celebrated with ice cream sundaes. Yummy!! Fun times with fun friends!
